To protect Adonis from that kind of treatment, Vincent has distanced himself from Adonis but continues to show affection for Adonis through small things like gifts. The emotional tension grows as Vincent experiences internal conflicts. He becomes increasingly attracted to Adonis, which makes things very awkward.
